Net metering lets you sell your energy to the grid for credits and save on your bill. An off-grid solar system uses solar panels and associated equipment to power a location completely independent of the electricity grid. Think campsites, RVs, boats, remote cabins, seasonal houses, or other places where the electric grid is unavailable or too expensive to bring to you.
